Mixtroz faced a recurring challenge in their industry: facilitating networking at their events. With over 90 events planned and produced nationwide each year and gathering thousands of businesspeople, they sought to create an innovative solution to connect attendees with relevant contacts.

AppNexio provided a custom mobile platform. The solution consisted of a Progressive Web App built using NodeJs, VueJS and Amazon’s DynamoDB and a React Native mobile app. Project managers were able to create events on the backend and include a series of questions used by the platform’s algorithm for people matching. Attendees were located using their mobile device’s GPS and received a push notification instructing them where to meet their group. The app also provided attendees with information on the people in their group and possible icebreakers.

This solution not only fulfilled its primary objective of adding value to event registration packages and increasing participant engagement, but it also created new marketing and revenue opportunities for Mixtroz through user data and in-app advertising. After the initial release, our team integrated new features like a video conferencing system for virtual encounters.

The AppNexio team was able to provide Mixtroz with the technology to scale and manage the e-commerce side of things, allowing for easy registration and payment for events through the platform. The successful implementation of this solution helped Mixtroz to continue to be a major player in their industry and receive several innovation awards.
